Berlin - City of Hidden Monuments

 

 

The most extraordinary aspect of Berlin monuments which sets them apart from any other city, is the state in which they are preserved. Berlin is a city of preservation absurdities where most undistinguished post modern structures are being conserved while historic relics being duplicated and destroyed in the process. 

 

The provocation "Berlin, City of Hidden Monuments" wants to challange the idea of the addendum which is given to a monument in Berlin in the process of preservation, an example of which is Reichstag and the new dome by Foster. 

 

The proposed addendums aim to completely change the way in which monuments are percieved. Through a simple act of framing and the use of plain glass. Some of them will be glorified while others completely deleted from the city of Berlin
