In Between a Wall

 

Transformation of an existing building can be a very challanging process. This project's aim was to transform a storage building into an appartement block. The existing building brough many challanges which also made the process particulary interesting. The original structure was based on a set of weight-carrying concrete walls, which gave the structure its rigidity and monolithic quality  

The main trasnformation was the removal of one side of the concrete block in order to create light-wells, The original copper materiality was also replaced by glass in order to maximise the amount of light that enters the appartments.
