Vertical vs. Horizontal

 

Hong Kong, is a city well known for its verticality. Each building is connected with a system of passages - forming an urban Interior. As one of my tools for the future of the project is a design of a vertical and horizontal space that we will use in order to create an iconic experience. It is a semi translucent system of intersecting beams that form a space which allows to expereience both the interior and the exterior qualities of architecture and the city: a floating passage. The thickness and the amount of beams can varie using a parametric technique which allows me to control the amount the observer sees through each membrane.
